Creating the perfect low-poly graphic requires balancing math and art. Instead of using a standard “pixelate” filter, our custom engine allows you to control the actual geometry of the shatter.
- Size Your Polygons: Start with the Crystal Size slider. A small size (e.g., 10px) will keep your image highly recognizable, looking like detailed mosaic tile. A massive size (e.g., 150px) will heavily abstract the image, turning it into a beautiful geometric background perfect for placing text over.
- Embrace the Chaos: The secret to a professional facet effect is the Crystal Chaos slider. If you leave it at 0%, the algorithm renders a perfect, boring grid of triangles. As you push the slider toward 100%, the engine randomly “jitters” the corners of the grid, creating organic, shattered shards that look like real broken glass.
- Add 3D Lighting: Flat triangles look like a mosaic. If you want your image to look like a glittering 3D gemstone, turn up the 3D Lighting Intensity. This mathematically shifts the brightness of random adjacent triangles, making some facets look like they are catching light while others fall into shadow.
- Draw the Stained Glass: The Wireframe Stroke slider allows you to draw physical lines around the borders of your polygons. Increasing this width creates a gorgeous “Stained Glass Window” aesthetic, especially when paired with bold, highly saturated photographs.

Why does the image resize when I upload a massive file?
Generating and drawing tens of thousands of individual, color-sampled polygons on high-resolution files (like raw smartphone photos) can freeze or crash web browsers. To ensure the engine stays lightning-fast and responsive while you slide the geometric controls, we safely cap internal processing at 2400 pixels on the longest edge.
